Tereo is a robust service for submitting reference fingerprints of content to the Tereo library for material that is illegal or irresponsible within a region, against which online platforms are able to take action.
Define region-specific usage rules to highlight sensitive content flagging to the platform for manual review; reporting to an agency; requesting immediate redress.
Tereo provides tools for computing fingerprints. As a result, reference video does not need to be uploaded to Tereo, reducing costs, lowering complexity, while maintaining security and privacy.
Tereo provides a one-stop shop – once fingerprints are submitted, all platforms can query centrally.

Source affirmation mechanism for platforms to flag "fake news", "deep fakes", and out of context usage to viewers.
As part of the Tereo library, independent of the online platforms, your fingerprints will improve the quality and safety of online communities – helping platforms be more socially responsible.
Rights holders
Empowering rights holders to protect content rights, control video assets, and safeguard creativity.
Rights holders include Content Originators and Rights Owners; those that license the content for distribution, the Licensors; and Brokers who distribute rights to multiple parties.

Hybrid application?
You are a Platform Owner and want to have your own responsibility repository?
To reinforce content moderation workflows, Tereo enables you to have a repository of material you want flagged within your internal systems. You can still search Tereo’s Rights holders and external Responsibility facilitator repositories.
You are a Rights holder, but you’re also a responsibility facilitator?
Maybe you're a major publisher of premium entertainment content, but also a trusted publisher of news – Tereo accepts fingerprints for both: have your valuable copyrighted material protected and be a facilitator for responsibility by submitting trusted news sources.
You are a Platform Owner, with user generated content contributions, but you also create original content for which you hold the rights.
Tereo allows you to query with fingerprints for contributed content, fulfilling social responsibility obligations, whilst also providing the ability to submit assets as a Rights holder and claim ownership.
How it works
Step 1 User contribution
A user uploads or streams video to a social media platform for shared distribution online.
Step 2 Fingerprinting
The platform generates a unique granular fingerprint of the uploaded video using Tereo’s technology.
Step 3 Library query
The platform sends the generated fingerprint along with related metadata to Tereo's central library of copyrighted and illegal material for verification.
Step 4 Verification
Tereo rapidly searches its reference libraries for fingerprint matches. When matches are verified, Tereo identifies a policy from the reference’s business rules and/or usage guidelines.
Step 5 Policy action
Tereo then returns the policy to the requesting platform to take action.
